Registering the birth of a child
All births in Holland must be registered within 3 days of the birth. Births can be registered at the Department of Civil Affairs at a municipal urban district council office (stadsdeelkantoor) near you, your partner or a nurse.

Child benefit (Kinderbijslag)

Pre-school daycare
There are several options open to you for pre-school daycare. The Dutch general term for daycare is 'kinderopvang', which covers options such as host parents, daycare facilities and nursery school. Almost every working parent in the Netherlands is eligible to receive financial support from the Dutch Government to help with the cost of childcare.
