Lustrum 380 years curiosity
What makes you burn with curiosity?
To celebrate the 76th ‘lustrum’ anniversary (occurring every five years) of the University of Amsterdam, a special digital magazine has been developed featuring the question ‘What makes you burn with curiosity?'. A challenge is extended to researchers, alumni, students and staff to come up with an inspiring, popular-science answer to this question. Entries of up to 1000 words in either Dutch or English can be submitted through this website starting in mid-February. Exceptional submissions will be published.
Curiosity
Curiosity is to be understood in a broad sense as an adventure of discovery, an expedition to uncover the truths behind life's most challenging questions. An insatiable thirst for answers and experiences, makes us prepared to do anything, go anywhere and ask anyone to get to the heart of the matter. Whether it's simulating organs on a chip, or adjusting our immune system to make it more effective, there is nothing stopping us as we embark on a global journey of learning and surprises. From the micro to the macro, we will always try to tackle thought-provoking and insightful questions.
Publication of entries
Academics, alumni, students and staff are challenged to send in an inspiring popular scientific answer to the question 'What makes you burn with curiosity?'. These entries must not exceed 1000 words in total, should preferably be in English, and can be submitted via this website from mid-February. All entries will be placed on a special webpage. The best entries will be published in a booklet.
